Assessments and Grading
This class operates on a total point system. The categories for grading include formative assessments: classwork and homework; summative assessments: exams/essays, quizzes, projects; and participation. Tests and major writing assignments will be worth more points than daily assignments and quizzes or will be weighted in the gradebook. Students will receive participation points for being prompt, respectful, prepared, attentive, and thoroughly engaged. Extra credit may be given periodically throughout the semester, but it is not guaranteed.
